Fig. A. Eu/Eu* vs. Ba/Sm. Eu concentrations obtained by ICP-MS analysis are highly influenced by BaO interferences and therefore need to be corrected. Circles represent platform, x represents slope and diamonds represent basin cap dolostones. Resulting corrected Eu/Eu* ratios (black) have been plotted together with the uncorrected ratios (red). The size of the uncorrected symbols refers to Ba content of the sample. The correlation of Ba/Sm with uncorrected Eu/Eu* diminishes after correction. Remaining apparent positive Eu anomalies after correction may indicate insufficient correction. Negative Eu anomalies (Eu/Eu* < 1) in two corrected samples may be due to overcorrection.
